My appointments went well today. I am able to control my gestational diabetes with diet, so far. Well, almost. My fasting is still a little high every morning. I might have to take Metformin or something to see if it helps. I'll let you know when I know. I've gotten big this week! Check out that belly. Dresses are my new best friend. I wear them every day. They aren't constricting on my belly. And my belly is now growing daily, as you cans see. Dresses make me look big, but I don't care. Comfort is important. :-)
How big are the babies: They are somewhere around 1 pound 12 ounces. Between 13.6 and 14.8 inches. My babies are longer than rulers! They are compared to cauliflower this week.
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Weight Gain: 16-17 pounds.
Belly:I "think" I'm measuring about 28-30 weeks. The Dr. doesn't really measure often. As long as the ultrasound shows healthy babies, he's happy. It's hard to measure a twin belly. They vary from person to person.
Stretch Marks: Most definitely.
Sleep: What sleep? I find myself staying awake at night just to feel them move and kick. Then I wake up to pee at least 3 times a night. Usually 2am, 4am, and 6am. I tend to wake Shawn up at least one of those times. It hits me because our baby son likes to punch and headbutt my bladder, so I jump out of bed in a hurry and wake him up. Sorry, hun!
Best Moment of the Week: Shawn got to feel major movement and kicks last night. He asked me how I sleep with that going on. We also bought carseats online and they arrived. Exciting and scary!
Movement: All of the time.
Symptoms: Sore boobs. Acne on my neck, chest, etc. Hair growth on my belly. Major heartburn, which I feel like is causing my bad breath. And I'm gassy now. Got to love hormones!
Food Cravings: Peanuts. They are my snack of choice right now on my gestational diabetes diet. Oh, and dairy! I no longer puke it up!!!
Genders: A boy and a Girl!
What I Miss: Not worrying about what I eat (deli, etc). Sleeping through the night.
What I'm Looking Forward to: Our next ultrasound, lol.
Weekly Wisdom: Snacking is good for your glucose to stay steady.
Milestones: Babies are over 1 1/2 pounds each.
Emotions: I still cry easily. I've been getting emotional when I think about them being here before we know it. 13 weeks at most. I don't imagine I'll make it past 38 weeks.
