Saturday

I got my hair cut and my eyebrows waxed this morning.  Yeah!  The power did not go out this time.

I came home and jogged for a very short amount of time on the treadmill.  I then walked for a while.

We ate turkey subs for lunch.

Shawn started watching season two of Castle.  He sat with me on the couch and I used his thigh for a pillow as I slept under two blankets.  I think I have a touch of what Abby had.  She's 100% better.  Now I have a headache and a fever of 99.8° F.  If I'm going to get it, I'm thankful I have it on a much smaller scale!  I am SOOOO tired!  All I want to do is sleep.  Now I know how Abby felt, somewhat.  She slept nearly 24 hours straight.  My tummy is fine.  I am so THANKFUL she is better!  Kids spring back so fast!

Shawn just said he is ruggedly handsome.  LOL!

I want to go see some Christmas lights tonight.  Take care everyone!

Christmas Break

We are now on Christmas break!  This morning we had a two hour delay.  Once we got to school, we loaded up and the whole elementary school and went on a field trip to Purdue.

Every student and staff member were given a green Delphi t-shirt today.  We all wore them so we would stand out.

Poor Abby couldn't go.  She slept nearly 24 hours before getting up!  She is doing a tiny bit better at the moment, but that could just be the medicine.

Oh, What a Night...

Late December, back in '63.

Okay, in all seriousness, it was quite a night.

Towards the end of the school day, I walked in Abby's room, took one look at her, and knew she was sick. She said she had a really bad headache.  I took her to my room and gave her some Tylenol.  I thought she felt warm, so we went up to the nurse and she took her temperature.  It was 103° F.  No school for Abby tomorrow.

As soon as school was out, I dropped the kids off at home.  I was there long enough to have Abby put on her pajamas and hop into bed.  I went to Walton to get my hair done.  As she was putting hair dye in my hair, the power went out.  She finished putting dye in my hair while using a flashlight.  After the timer went off, one of the other ladies held a flashlight so she could see to rinse my hair.  I will go back next week to get it cut and my eyebrows waxed.  What luck?!?!

After leaving, I went to the corner store down the road.  They still had power on that side of highway 35.  I got some deli (they have fresh) with my cold wet head.  Gas went from $2.91 to $3.25 there today.  I didn't get any in Delphi because I was in a hurry to get to Walton.  It was $2.99 in Delphi.  Let's hope it still is in the morning.  If not, I have to pay more.  That just added to my luck.

I came home.  We ate.  Abby was asleep, so I didn't wake her up.  She woke up about 7:30 and said she had a really bad headache.  She then ran to the bathroom.  The poor girl puked and heaved for 5 minutes.  After she calmed down, I gave her a little broth.  She ate/drank it and went right back to bed.  When I got up because Abby was puking, I found Zac asleep on a book he was reading.  I woke him up and he put himself to bed.  Both kids were in bed before 8:00 pm.  I wonder if Zac is coming down with it as well.

Now I'm sitting on the couch with my amazing husband!  We are watching a Christmas Hallmark movie.  He must love me to watch a chick flick with me!

It's 9:00 pm. and now I'm ready for bed!

Another Wednesday

I'm so glad Wednesday is almost over!  I am tired.  Shawn is driving home from Illinois.  He was almost to Missouri.  I just hung up with him.  I told him I love him and to drive safe!

Last night I forgot how to walk.  I've only been doing it most of my life.  I stubbed my left pinky toe into the dresser last night.  As I did, I fell and gave myself rug burn on my left knee.  Shawn saw me do it and rushed to help me.  When I'm in pain though, I don't like people touching me.  I held my hand out and said, "I'll be okay.  Just give me a minute."  After the pain eases, then you can talk to me.  LOL!  Is anyone else that way?  Here is a picture of my toe tonight.  What a blonde!

Nothing new to report here.  Two more days until Christmas break!

We finally have a chance for some snow.  The weatherman earlier said it will be about an inch.  I would be perfectly fine if it doesn't.

Oops!

I'm a terrible mama!  First and Second grade had a choir concert with their music teacher last night at school.  On top of that, the kids who are in the additional choir class with a different choir teacher got to sing songs as well.  Abby is in second grade and the extra choir class, so she got to sing twice.  Zac is also in the extra choir class.  Well....  I haven't charged my camera battery in quite a while and well, it kind of, sort of, died before the grades 1-5 extra choir class got up to sing.  I have a few pictures of Abby with her second grade class, but none of her and Zac in the choir.  The kids promise they still love me.

I was freezing earlier, so I made a big pot of chili for supper.  It hit the spot!

I have been cold all day.  I hope I'm not catching something.  It's going around bad at work.  We have had several children and teachers absent the past 2 days.  Nothing much new to report here.  Zac is in the shower.  Once he gets out we are going to continue reading a book together.  He's not feeling the best again.  He has it in his sinuses.  Yuck!

My Super Amazing Wonderful Awesomely Great Husband took Abby to dance.  Last time I blogged, he complained that he wasn't in it.  He told me he likes to be in the spotlight, so I made sure to add him.  Love you Hubby!  Dance ends in 15 minutes, then they will be on their way home!  Yeah!

I love getting caught up on the weekend!  It didn't happen last weekend.  I have all the laundry caught up, dishes done, etc.  It's a good feeling.

Our Colts lost today.  I hope they win next week!  Let's hope the Patriots lose tonight.  I know that's not very nice of me, but I just can't be their fan when I'm a Colt's fan.  I have to admit, Brady is good, even if I don't like him.  Packers and Falcons won!  That's always good!

It's nice when people who can afford it do things like this.

I plan on making cookies with the kids this week.  I think we are going to make gingerbread cookies/men.  I need to buy some flour and sugar.  We make them from scratch and use molasses.  It will be fun!
