Daylight Savings

Who's bright idea was that?  I hope it isn't too hard for the twins to adjust.  Nothing much new here.  I want to cry.  I boxed up all of the 3-6 month baby clothes today and got out the 6-9 month.  I was worried they would be too big, so I dressed the twins in some 6-9 month outfits.  They fit. :(  How did that happen?  Colt and Cora have long torso's, so they outgrow their onesies first.  I didn't really realize how I was squishing them into smaller onesies until I got the bigger ones out.

Cora passed out in Zac's arms today.  She was fussy so he picked her up and she conked out quickly.  We usually put them in their cribs to nap, but I was in there going through all of the clothes.  Zac was in charge of the twins.  It took me 2 hours to go through everything, put away, etc.  When I got done, I came to the living room to help Zac.  His first words were, "How do you do it all day?  I took care of the twins 2 hours and I'm worn out!  One baby would be so easy."  He cracked me up.  It's about time someone else knows how hard I work.  And I still get supper on the table and laundry done.  A mamma's work is never done.  I have the washer going right now.  I really want to go to bed, but its only 8:30.  Tomorrow it will be 9:30...  I think that's an excuse to go to bed soon.

I know I say this a lot, but its true.  I am so thankful for everything God has given us.  I am the luckiest mommy in the world.  I have two awesome kids that are extremely helpful.  I'm always thanking them and praising them for everything they do to help out.  They do the dishes almost every day.  They help with laundry.  They sweep and help mop.  They gather trash.  The keep their rooms picked up.  They have a great sense of humor that makes me laugh.  They are great with the twins and love making them laugh.  Okay, yes, they are children and aren't perfect.  They do make mistakes sometimes, but I'm lucky to have them.  I bought The Sound of Music recently and I watched it with Zac and Abby for the first time.  I can't tell you how great it is to share moments with them like that.  I got to share something I liked that they had never seen before.

I also Thank God almost every day for the twins.  I'm so lucky.  They weren't born too early and they are perfectly healthy.  They are growing like weeds.  I'm thankful for my husband.  Shawn wants me to stay home with them right now.  He wants me to be a stay at home mom right now.  To quote him, "I don't want anyone else watching my babies."  I get to stay home and take my millions of pictures and video clips.  I take so many pictures because I don't want to miss a moment of them growing up.  We only get to go through the baby thing once.  I love scrolling back through Facebook and my blog and remember things I probably would have forgotten otherwise.  I scrolled back though last year and remembered how it felt doing IVF at the start of the year, etc.  There was a time I worried Shawn and I would never be parents.  I can't tell you how difficult that was.  Now I get to hold not one, but two beautiful little babies.  I didn't know if I would ever get to snuggle a baby that I got to keep and call my own.  I love them laying their head on my shoulder or chest and falling asleep.  Sigh!  I'm so lucky.  <3

I will not miss, however, the baby puke.  I used to change my shirt at every little spit up.  Now Cora has to puke on me for me to change my shirt.  LOL!  What's a little baby spit up?  Cora can't help it.  She's a pukey baby.

Mentioning Cora, she's turning into a little spitfire lately.  She used to be the laid back one and she slept more than Colton.  In the past 3 weeks or so, that has really started changing.  She is sleeping less than Colt and her temper now shows.  She is at the stage where she's getting frustrated a lot.  She wants to crawl and she can't do it yet.  She knows she wants to get after something, but can't so she screams/squeals at the top of her lungs.  She has learned she can get places rolling, but she always ends up rolling into something and it stops her progress.  As a result, the temper comes out again.

Colt is still teething, so he is sleeping more than Cora.  He's scooting still, but he doesn't roll to get places.  He just flips to his tummy, puts his head down, butt up, and pushes forward.  I love how much they touch each other and hold hands.  I love how close they are.

I better wrap this up.  It's long enough.  Goodnight!  I'll leave you with pictures and video clips.

Here is Cora passed out.

I've learned to change Colt's clothes while he's on his tummy.  I fight putting his diaper on, but give up after that.  I'm getting good at dressing him this way.

This was yesterday.  She was fussy and wanted picked up.  She got some mommy snuggles and fell asleep not too long after this picture was taken.  Isn't she adorable?

If something ever happened to this glow worm, it would be an emergency trip to town.  She love it so much.

Her glow worm is her pal and needs yelled at sometimes.  LOL!

I made homemade mixed vegetables and mashed/pureed it.  They love it.  Cora wanted more.

This was from the other day.  Cora kept scooting to Colt.  I wondered what she would do when she got there.  She tends to touch his face, but she collapsed in a fit of hunger before she got there.

I didn't proofread.  Sorry if there are typos!

Just another morning in the Scott house

Colton was giving Cora a "kiss".  That's what he does when I kiss his cheek.  He opens his mouth and tries to eat my kisses and blinks a lot.  They love each other. <3

Colt laughed at Cora and tried to comfort her.

There there, I've got you!

You have the big Scott ears, bubby.

Where does time go???

This was my babies at 8 days old.  Check out those newborn pants on my preemies!

Go away winter!

Storm

My babies and me!

Do you know who is who?  Colt is on the left.  He has a freckle.

Love the chubby baby legs!

Sigh...  I took these off and tried weaving them.  Colton is still slipping through.  Silly babies!

Colton reminds me of someone here, but I'm not sure who.  If you know who, please comment and share your thoughts.

This was before their teeth broke through.  Colton got his lower right central incisor on February 23rd.  His lower left incisor is taking its time, but its almost there.  Cora got her lower left incisor on February 25th and her lower right incisor on February 26th.  He beat her with the first tooth, but she beat him with the second.  The got their first tooth at 5 months old.  Keep in mind that they weren't supposed to be 5 months old until March 3rd so technically they would should have been 4 months.

Seriously!?!  You have the camera out, again?

Stop going after my toy!

He blocked her hand, lol!

They tend to be a little early in some things, such as rolling and teeth.  In others they are right on.  If you lean Colton forward, he can sit up for a while.  Cora can't for as long.  They aren't there yet.  I know some babies are sitting up at 6 months old, so we will see if they are before they hit 7 months.  Their next appointment is in 2 weeks.  I can't wait to see how big they are.  They also get their next set of immunizations.  Poor babies!

In a lot of pictures and video clips it looks like Cora is beating Colt up. I know she doesn't mean to. Earlier, Shawn had Cora and I had Colton. We had them next to each other. Cora kept grabbing/touching Colt's face. I would move Colton back so she couldn't scratch him or poke him in the eye. Every time I did, she would squeal and reach for him. She just wanted to be close to her bubby. Colt wanted to hold her hand, but really didn't care for her constantly touching his face. Other's have said that its love and needing affection, letting him know she's there, and exploring and learning.  She's just a little rough.  ;)  Once in a while he makes her cry, but its usually the other way around.  I just love them so much!

Have I mentioned I love my camera and my new lens I got for Christmas?  Most of the pictures in this post are from my new lens.  I absolutely love photography.  If you haven't noticed, Cora has learned to put on a show when she sees my cell phone.

I'll leave you with 2 video clips from tonight.

~Sam

Cora decided she wanted Colt's rattle, but couldn't get to it because he was in the way.  She was not happy about that.

And an example of Cora constantly touching Colt's face and accidentally hurting him.

Such cuteness!
Eating Cora's hand

We start early ;)

Teething on Abby's fingers

What do the babies say?

Stop licking my head!

Rolling into bubby.  Again...

Hello!

You're so funny big sissy!

Don't mind the baby stuff everywhere.

I'm trying to learn to scoot.

Holding hands.  They do this daily.

Go away snow!

Mom's finger makes my gums feel better.

.You don't go fast enough mom.  I'm forced to suck my thumb between bites.

They were on their backs side by side.  I got a drink of water then came back and this is what I found.

Break from our story.

Give me that spoon.  You go too slowly, mom.  I've got this!

Changing these babies is like wrestling gators!  LOL!

Since she's in my way, I'll blow on her foot.

My little diva!

Pick me up, mom!

I'm so darn adorable!

Why are you always rolling into me???

From my cell...

Go Away Winter!

National "use your brother as a foot rest and make him cry" day.

Payback!  "You're always picking on me sissy, so eat my toes!"

"Gotcha again, bubby!"

Cora rolled and scooted to Colt and shoved her thumb in his mouth.  He's used to her picking on him, so he went with it.  LOL!

November 13th and February 28th Colton is growing so fast!

Abby fed Colt and mommy fed Cora

Cora "kisses" her glow worm goodnight every night.

We've got teeth!

"Hold my bottle mom, it's your job."

"I got this."

Zac fed me prunes and I tried to help.

Another tooth.
